Marcia Maritza Robiou is a Dominican-American producer & filmmaker known for her innate sense of story, deep reporting & meticulous attention to detail. With a strong background in investigative journalism, she is currently focused on crafting artful documentaries that push the boundaries of the genre. 

 

She began her career as a producer & reporter at PBS FRONTLINE, where she won a number of awards for the films she worked on (listed below). Today, she works as a freelance film producer, director & reporter based out of New York City. 

 

Most recently, she produced Latino Vote 2024, an hour long film for national PBS broadcast. She is currently directing her first short film with support from Latino Public Broadcasting (airs 2025).  

 

In her previous career as an aid worker, she lived & worked in war zones around the world. She is fluent in Spanish and speaks multiple languages at taxi-level. She has also received multiple Hostile Environment Awareness Trainings.

 

Marcia is an alumna  of Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism and New York University.
